Rabeea'h Waseem Aslam MB, BS, MSc
Research Fellow and Project Manager

Dr. Rabeea'h Waseem Aslam is the Research Fellow and Project Manager working on Theracom, a collaborative NIHR-HTA funded project with the University of Warwick, De Montfort University and the Afiya Trust. The project is a systematic review of the evidence base for interventions to improve Therapeutic Communications between black and minority ethnic populations and staff in specialist mental health services.

Dr. Aslam is a medical doctor. Her work in economic evaluation of mental health policy at the London School of Economics culminated in a change in UK health policy in 2011. She was also a contributor to the Royal College of Psychiatrists Policy Briefing on the Parity of Esteem between mental and physical health services.

Her research interests lie at the intersection of social exclusion, transnational migration, community engagement, cultural psychiatry, health services research and policy. This was reflected, amongst other projects, in the establishment and management of health camps for internally displaced people in Pakistan.
